**GIVEAWAY** - Relaunching On Being

I have a beautiful picture on my wall that says, Home Is Where Your Story Begins. That's my motto for sure. Everyone has a story. Some are huge, late-breaking stories, some are simple but heartwarming and others are ones that require a Kleenex box nearby.

I've had the opportunity to spend time interviewing quite a few well known people for various publications and lots of not so well knowns and what I've learned is there is not one person that I've spoken to that does not have something worth telling. On Being is going to be that place to tell your stories.

Weekly, you will read about different people and their stories. You can comment and ask questions and it's my hope that you will go away having learned something from that story.

I would love to interview all of you - too young to be a grandma, cancer survivor, stand up comedian, young at heart, adoptive, homeschooling, career oriented, laid back, creative, searching women because your story does matter.

I ask that you email me and let me know that you'd like to be interviewed. I'll also come searching you out if you don't volunteer! :) The only request that I have is that you grab the "I've been interviewed on On Being" button when you'd like your readers to read all about you.

Now for the giveaway...

In celebration of relaunching, On Being... I'm giving away a totally cool prize package. Here's the prizes:

  1. I'm Hallie....what makes me me??? I guess I'm me becasue I love unconditionally, I'm loyal to a tee and I laugh daily. I have been happily married to my high school sweetheart for 18 yrs and yes, we survived teen pregnancy. I take NOTHING for granted...watching my Dad almost die while waiting for a new heart taught me to love life as if today could be your last.

I like me and I think that's a pretty good way to be.

    Hallie

  2. Congrats on this new blog.
Hi everyone.. My name is Andrena. I'm from the Caribbean and living in London for the past 11 years. What makes me me? Well, I think that I'm finding this out every day.

A year ago, I had to stop working because my passport was stolen by a family friend and I had to apply for residency and so until I get that I cannot work.

In this frustrating time, I have been rediscovering my creativity and also volunteering. Now, I have two jobs line up waiting for me (my old job as an actuary and a new one at the place I volunteer at doing youth research). So please pray for me that I get my passport soon. It's been a yr!

I have now a deeper appreciation and love for myself and have discovered my strength and also the unconditional love from my bf have made relax and accept being taken care of. I've learnt that I don't have to be a superwoman.

  4. What makes me "me" basically? I'm a loving friend who will do what I can to make someone else happy. I just want to feel comfortable in my own skin and be loved...even though I KNOW my family loves me. I love to read, books are a great escape. Music is another escape. It tells a story. Love it.

  7. Yeah I am following you on this blog now too! I would simply love to be interviewed. Whew! What an honor it would be.

I am Kat, living life from the beautiful sunny state of California in the southern part, the high desert. I have been happily married to the love of my life and soul mate for 11 years after finding that love after a brutally painful divorce of my first marriage of 10 years.

You can ask me anything, my life is a complete open book.

    Love and Hugs ~ Kat

  8. I'm Elle. I think what makes me "me" is my kids. Being a mom really defines who I am and I'm comfortable with that. But I also think I'm more complex than that. I have things that make me uniquely me like my hobbies, my sense of humor, my husband, my childhood, the fact that I struggled with infertility, and other things...that I'd love to divulge in an interview!!
I'm a follower here now too! Thank you!

  9. What a marvelous idea. The stories will be fun to read. I'm Nikki or better known as Nikkicrumpet. And I guess what makes me me is the love of wonderful parents, the love of a great man, the love of my 3 amazing kids, humor, and the love of Jesus Christ.

I picked up your button and will proudly display it on my scrolly. I hope everyone finds this blog. Good luck with the re-launch!

  11. Congrats on your relaunch. I just stopped over from Chocolate Covered Daydreams who turned me on to your giveaway! What a great idea!

Who am I and what makes me that way--- I'm in therapy trying to figure that out :-) But the short answer is I'm a 50-something just trying to figure out the next chapter in life. I got here by way of Ohio, NY, San Francisco and now Los Angeles. I love blogging and all the folks I've met in the past 6 months.

Nice to meet you! I'll read up on your blog and follow you too!

Thanks for the giveaway. Stop by my bog and enter mine too!

What makes me me?? Oh crap that's a hard one....

    Hmmm

    OK...

My trials of life have formed and molded me into who I am today

  13. :) I love good questions. Better questions produce better answers.

What makes me 'me' is change. Growth. Evolution. Expansion. One of my friends recently told me that the only thing he'll ever come to expect of me is change. I laughed because it's true. I've spent the last four years living in four cities. I'm all about learning, helping, and being the elusive 'better', spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically, period. I'm an idealistic philosopher, a lover, a teacher, a writer and more.

The practice of my transformation makes me me.

  15. Congrats! They say like mother, like daughter- since you gave birth to a wonderful being like apricot (Ev'Yan)I am very excited to follow your blog. - By any chance, can you be found on bloglovin'? If not, ask your daughter about it, it is a quite delightful website :)

My name is Esther Lee. I am a very ambitious and driven girl who someday hope to have neurosurgery as a job. I dislike it when people ask me what I want to be and expect me to give them a job description as an answer- although that is often the easiest way to go, I feel like what I AM and what I would like to BECOME is only sightly affected by my choice of job. I love life for it is a present and I love watching the sky- the variation and the majesty astounds me.

  16. I'm Jen and I wear many hats so what makes me who I am would definitely be the trials and tribulations I've encountered on my journey through this thing called "LIFE"

I'm mommy to four beautiful children ages 13, 11, 9, and 18 mos. I work full time and just launched a small business. Life is hectic! I am a freind to many, I am a supportive wife to my hubby which I've known about half my life. I'm thirty now and we are High School Sweethearts who have wheathered the storm.

I'm strong minded and am very honest and blunt. I don't have time to beat around the bush with you, I'm going to tell you like it is. Even if it's not what you want to hear! That's what makes me geunine. I love you enough to tell you the truth even when the truth hurts! Okay, I think that's enough about me. :-)

  17. I met this man who, after knowing me just two or three days, said he could easily identify me by my silhouette. I am sometimes told there is something unique in the way I move. The slight awkwardness in my gestures, I guess. The imbalance in every step. The glimmer of grace that I imagine flickers on and off. I care about my body, what goes into it or onto it, but

I am more than my body. I am more than the tattoos etched onto my skin or the skirts that I wear or the glasses I choose not to. I am more than my voice, which is too quiet most of the time and often uncertain. There is more than my external timidity. There is my internal strength.

I am more than the sum of my passions; the notebooks I fill; the books I read; the films I watch; the classes I attend; the places I go...

I am the curve and margins of my handwriting. I am, literally, off-beat. I wouldn't say I dance to my own drummer. Rather, I am incapable of moving in any defined rhythm. I am a little of everyone around me and everyone I have ever met, as they are a little of me.

My experiences don't define me, but some of them describe me. I backpacked halfway across the country. I sat by the Mississippi River in New Orleans watching the moon rise in an unbroken window one month after Hurricane Katrina. I tried to stretch my arms around a Redwood. I jumped into the ocean at Venice Beach naked. I walked across the Brooklyn Bridge. I have woken up on an island in the Philippines. I have sailed down the Seine. I've gone hiking in the Grand Canyon. I've traveled by ship and train and plane and bus and by foot and hitchhiking.

I can't hold still. I am so light and restless that the wind can blow me around. I am so heavy that I can sink into rock. I am my desire to merge with the universe. I am my desire to be my best self.

I am a girl who does origami when she is sad, stringing paper cranes across walls. I love classical guitar, cooking, eating, rainy days, bookstores. But I am more than what or who or how I love.

What makes me who I am--
It isn't something simple. There's my flesh and my bones, but my essence is my soul and there's no blueprint or definition for that. I am several thousands of things, most of which can't be pinned down, but here's trying...

  20. What makes me me????
I am a wife of a super man, I am a bio mom to 3 and adoptive mom to 3 with an age spread of 29 to 4, a grandmother to 7, 2 of which are angels, I am a tattooed-pierced-and crazy biker and then I can turn around and be a professional in the psychiatric field.
I am a cancer survivor, I watched both my parents die a slow death from heart disease and miss them every day.
I love scrapbooking as a way to make sure all of our memories are saved for future generations and there is never a place I would rather be than on a beach with all my babies, young and old. Living in Utah that doesn't happen much, but we love to do other things together too!
All the people and things I surround myself with is what makes me who I am-- a happy, most the time peaceful mom and wife who loves life!

  21. Hello I am following you here now too but I can't link you from my blog cuz I went private (for the time being. However you have seen my blog and you and I follow each other on Twitter :-)

I am woman who takes chances and accepts that sometimes I will fail. Sometimes I will hurt. But it's worth it~ the journey is totally worth it. I have been learning that I trust too easily and always think that all people are good but they are not. That has been a sad lesson in my life but it doesn't keep me from loving, trusting and taking those chances. I am in love with a wonderful man who loves me back "even more". I am finding that life is amazing when the one you love.. loves you back!

  23. Hmm... This is tough I have no idea what makes me me. It's way too hard to define. I guess I'm unique in a strange quirky Gemini type of way for good or bad I'm just me. I love hard and have strong convictions, think I'm terribly smart but am humble. I hope that's enough.

  24. I'm here! I meant to do this earlier...so glad you gave us all a reminder. When I was young I used to go around asking everyone, "What is is like to be you?" I think I wanted to know what you're asking us here...what makes you, you? In short, it's my faith, my family, and my friends make me who I am today. Of course there's more to it than that, but we'd have to chat over some kind of food to cover it all! =)
